If you work as a police officer, what do you think about mass surveillance of the population?

There will come a time in the not to distant future when we will all have sleep walked into a Big Brother state.
It is possible to DNA sample every new born baby at birth and hold these records for the life of the person.
With radio data transmitters it is possible to track a person using the now growing wifi network in most city centres.
It no surprise that the UK has the highest number of cctv cameras, this technology is growing in both its complexity and numbers.
Face recognition software allow a cctv operator to profile the general population looking for certain people.
We all know that we can be traced via our mobile phones, store cards, credit cards, Internet usage, doctors records, insurance details, car ownership, benefit entitlement etc., etc.
We are not at the big brother stage yet but we are not far off it.
It would create to much work and a police state, and I don’t want that. There is much illegal going on and people would be arrested it would be massive sweeps and the prisons would fill we have enough people in prison right now.
Who says your not being watched now.
Big Brother is watching you.
The U.S. has a spy satellite now that can pin point anything anywhere. That is good technology, but precincts in each county and state must do their best.
Great idea. There is no expectation of privacy in public places. Would you commit a crime if you knew someone was watching and would apprehend you?
No good asking that question here. They are to busy racing around the roads in their Noddy Cars chasing innocent drivers, they can`t actually be bothered to do actual real police work!
Mass surveillance of the population!!!!
Most people do not realise that they give more personal information out to companies etc (willingly) than the police could ever know.
If you are a criminal then beware. If you are not then chances are you will be left well alone.
